Lamplighter & Pammy’s Debut Pavona

Pammy's

On Sunday, April 18th, Pammy’s and Lamplighter Brewing Co. are debuting Pavona, their sophisticated, spectacularly drinkable Italian-style Pilsner. The name, which means peacock in Italian (pavone), is a nod to Rebecca Walsh‘s stunning mural inside the award-winning Cambridge go-to and the brew itself is a collaboration between Lamplighter brewmaster Tyler Fitzpatrick and Pammy’s Bar Manager Rob Ficks. The pair put their talents (and their well-honed palates) together to produce Pavona, which is totally crushable yet also complex enough to pair with a nice dinner. You can try it as soon as this Sunday; just book a table at Pamily Sunday (the last one of the season) between 4:00 and 8:00pm to pair it with some garlic knots, eggplant parm or any of chef Chris Willis‘ housemade pastas.

If you’d rather try Pavona from the comfort of home you’ll also be able to grab some bottles from the retail counter at Lamplighter, which is open from 11:00am-8:00pm (284 Broadway in Cambridge). Pre-order your suds through their online store and consider scooping up one of Pammy’s Picnics To Go to go with it. The packages (think: giardiniera, a mix of sweet nuts, chicken liver pate, whipped cheeses and Pugliese bread), are available on a first-come, first-served basis so head over early if that’s the way you want to go.

Pavona is part of Lamplighter’s non-profit partnership program, so $1 of every bottle sold will be donated to the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC), a longstanding support base for survivors of sexual violence and their communities.
