Bringing a taste of Southern hospitality to Watertown, chef and restaurateur Jason Santos will be opening a second location of his popular Back Bay restaurant Buttermilk & Bourbon in Arsenal Yards. Sister to Citrus & Salt, Abby Lane and the freshly opened B&B Fish in Marblehead, Buttermilk & Bourbon was inspired by chef Santos’ love for New Orleans with its energy, unique history and taste. And, come 2021, Watertown will get to experience the down home charm of the bayou without having to buy a plane ticket. The menu will feature American cuisine showcasing Southern classics as well as re-imagined versions of staple dishes like fried chicken and homemade biscuits, local oysters and peel and eat shrimp with a beverage program featuring a wide variety of bourbon-based drinks, large-batch cocktails and more.

The 3,000 square foot restaurant will join an eclectic mix of offerings at Arsenal Yards — 50 curated shops, eateries, fitness and entertainment venues including The Majestic 7, Shake Shack, and Roche Bros. There’ll be a life science lab, residential apartments and a 146-room Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton (anticipated completion in Fall 2021).
