With a passion for local ingredients and skill with seasonal flavors, chef Stephanie Barrett has risen through the culinary ranks and now she’s taking the helm in the kitchen at Alden & Harlow as their new Chef de Cuisine. A natural in the kitchen since she was a kid, Barrett found inspiration watching the career of Antonia Lofaso, a talented chef and restaurateur who’s appeared both Top Chef and Chopped.
Barrett is a graduate of Johnson & Wales, where she learned the basics before heading off to develop her craft under her mentor chef Dan Cote, who led by example and helped her develop her management and organizational skills. Before joining the Alden & Harlow team, Barrett ran the Farm to Table Guest Chef Series at The Chatham Bars Inn where she worked with prestigious chefs including Jody Adams, Colin Lynch and Will Gilson.
When she’s not in the kitchen Barrett can usually be found at home in Somerville with her husband cooking, painting or tackling home improvement projects.
