ICOB & Row 34 Raising Funds for Groceries

The Island Creek Oyster Bar & Row 34 teams are coming together to take care of their collective restaurant family – more than 300 people who’ve either been laid off or had their hours drastically reduced due to COVID-19. Working with their wholesale suppliers (and supporting them in the process, too – so it’s a win-win!), the group is buying staple grocery items and distributing them to team members who are in need. Last week they were able (while still maintaining their social distance) to hand out nearly 200 bags full of basics like pasta, rice, bread, toilet paper, beans, canned tuna and some fruits and veggies.

Here’s where you come in: just $25 buys a week’s worth of groceries that might run as much as $50 or $75 at a retail shop (which are already overburdened and overcrowded). You can pitch in online here to help them meet their modest goal of raising $360 per day, which will allow them to provide groceries to every team member every other week. It’s easy to help and a little bit goes a long way. Donate to their GoFundMe now.
