A Pick-Me-Up for Frontline Workers from Scampo

Forget what they say about fences, chefs make the best neighbors – especially in the midst of a pandemic. Case in point: Lydia Shire headed back into the kitchen at closed-for-the-moment Scampo at the Liberty Hotel to cook up some lunches for frontline workers at Mass General Hospital, which is right next door. On Monday, April 20th, the James Beard award-winning chef and her staff lit the stoves and turned on the ovens to make and pack more than fifty boxed lunches of lobster rolls, curried chicken salad (with chips!) and white chocolate and macadamia nut cookies. As an additional token of their appreciation, they included a $25 gift card to Scampo to be used once the restaurant has reopened. A lovely lunch and a little something to look forward to – now, that’s a good neighbor.
