Under different circumstances the folks at Tres Gatos, Jamaica Plain’s tapas restaurant/ book shop/record store would be celebrating Record Store Day this weekend. That’s a bit more of a challenge in the current climate with their business temporarily shuttered. They’re not going to let that ruin the fun though – they just need a little help.
Cue the team behind Vinyl Nation, an indie film that’s all about the recent resurgence of vinyl records and record stores in general. These Vinyl Nation peeps are premiering their movie digitally from midnight Saturday, April 18th through 11:59pm Sunday April 19th and donating proceeds from ticket sales to record shops. Tickets for the screening are just $10 each and 100% of sales go to the store through which tickets were purchased. Click here to buy your tix – Tres Gatos will get the monies and you’ll get to watch a groovy, informative and heartwarming film (so say the knowledgeable and trustworthy critics at Tres Gatos) before everyone else.
Plus you’ll get the satisfaction of supporting Tres Gatos, a super cool, very unique, three-in-one concept that’s been part of JP for nearly a decade.
