If you were waiting for details about this year’s cast of featured chefs before buying your tickets, it’s time to take out your credit card — the folks from Nantucket Wine & Food Festival have announced their ensemble of cookers for the 2019 festivities, which are scheduled to take place from Wednesday, May 15th through Sunday, May 19th.
You’ll find a few new faces in the culinary programming along with some of the returning talent. Pay a visit to the Culinary Tent for an oasis of cooking demos, food samples, great wines, craft spirits and non-stop entertainment, and say hi to chefs Jamie Bissonnette (Little Donkey), Will Gilson (Puritan & Company) and many more while you’re inside. There’ll also be special wine dinners, seminars and themed events with peeps like chefs Colin Lynch (Bar Mezzana), Michael Scelfo (Alden & Harlow), Michael Lombardi and Kevin O’Donnell (SRV), Brian Mercury (Oak + Rowan) and Marc Orfaly (ReelHouse), among others.
It’s the ladies that lead the line-up though. Two particular events will focus on celebrating women in food — La Fête highlights four fabulous female guest chefs: Tracy Chang, (PAGU), Elizabeth Falkner (Chef/Author), Maura Kilpatrick (Sofra Bakery & Cafe) and Cassie Piuma (Sarma) while Dames Déjeuner will feature honored guest chef Karen Akunowicz (Fox & the Knife) as well as pastry chef Renae Connolly (Benedetto).
