Take part in an Italian American tradition this year with a Feast of the Seven Fishes — Festa dei Sette Pesci — which features seven types of seafood like lobster, shrimp, mussels, clams and more among the courses. Over 15 restaurants around Boston are celebrating everybody’s favorite fishy holiday gathering; a few spots are getting a jumpstart on serving the special menu while others are hosting on Christmas Eve. RESTAURANTS HOSTING BEFORE CHRISTMAS EVE:

Sulmona and Amelia’s Trattoria

Date: Daily through Monday, December 24th
Price: A la carte
Sister spots Sulmona and Amelia’s Trattoria, both in Cambridge, are busting out the fish dishes early running through Christmas. Chef-owner (of both locations) Delio Susi has crafted two unique multi-course menus priced a la carte. Book a table at either the Main Street or Harvard Street locale, then take your pick from a slew of seafood-y favorites like cioppino, yellow fin tuna crudo or lobster ravioli. See the menus

Island Creek Oyster Bar – Burlington

Date: Sunday, December 16th and Monday, December 17th
Price: $125 per person
Island Creek Oyster Bar in Burlington invites you to celebrate with their family at a five-course dinner with Chef Jeremy Sewall and Island Creek Oyster Farm’s Skip Bennett. Tickets include all of the bounty of the sea plus a signed copy of Chef Sewall’s book, The New England Kitchen. Both dinners will be intimate affairs with only 40 seats available each. Bar Mezzana

Date: Sunday, December 23rd
Price: $85 per person + $40 for wine pairings
Bar Mezzana is hosting their modern Feast for the third year running, with a family-style spread served in multiple courses and optional wine pairings. This isn’t your old-school fish dinner: Chef Colin Lynch brings his personal style to the classic components, offering dishes like bay scallop crudo with tangerine and nori, baked oysters with pancetta and Calabrian chili, and (of course) a whole grilled, stuffed bronzino. Coppa

Price: $75 per person; + $45 for wine pairings
Hours: 4:30-9:00pm
The annual Feast of the Seven Fishes dinner at Coppa is a perennial favorite so don’t waste any time reserving your spot. The seven-course menu from chef Brian Rae includes all sorts of luxurious seafood dishes (as is the tradition) including smelts, lobster, clams and swordfish. Grab a table before they get scooped up. Chef Dante de Magistris presents a Feast of the Seven Fishes using age-old family recipes. Passed down from his grandmother, this four-course prix fixe Christmas Eve dinner will make you feel right at home. See dante’s menu

Davio’s – Boston

Price: $75 per person
Hours: 4:00-10:00pm
In addition to their regular menu of northern Italian fare, Davio’s will be serving a three-course Feast of the Seven Fishes menu. You can choose between your a la carte favorites or go with the seafood-laden prixe fixe which includes dishes like linguine with Nantucket bay scallops and black truffle cream. Davio’s – Braintree

Price: $75 per person
Hours: 4:00-10:00pm
Eat all the fishes — seven, at least! — at Davio’s Braintree. On the night before Christmas, the newest local addition to the growing restaurant empire will be welcoming diners with a seafood-laden three-course menu in the grand Italian tradition. Davio’s – Chestnut Hill

Price: $75 per person
Hours: 5:00-8:00pm
Take part in an Italian Christmas Eve tradition at Davio’s Chestnut Hill, where they will be serving a prix fixe menu for this fishy feast. The three-course menu features trout, shrimp, mussels, octopus, atlantic cod, scallops and lump crab. The regular menu will also be available throughout the evening. Davio’s – Foxborough

Price: $75 per person
Hours: 4:00-10:00pm
Take part in the classic Italian Christmas Eve tradition at Davio’s Foxborough. The Patriot Place outpost of the local steakhouse chain will be offering a three-course Feast of the Seven Fishes prix fixe featuring seafood like octopus. mussels, shrimp, lobster, swordfish, crab, and clams. Davio’s – Lynnfield

Price: $75 per person

It’s not a true Italian Christmas Eve without a Feast of the Seven Fishes. Davio’s in Lynnfield presents a three-course prix fixe full of delicious seafood like clams, crab, octopus, calamari, swordfish, shrimp and Maine lobster. Grotto

Price: $55 per person
Hours: 5:00-10:00pm
Beacon Hill is one the coziest neighborhoods in Boston (and the holiday spirit is very much alive!), so head to Grotto for even more of that cheerfulness and to partake in their Feast of the Seven Fishes menu. Your evening can end with a post-dinner stroll along Charles Street. See Grotto’s menu

Oak + Rowan

Price: $100 with VIP caviar hour prior to dinner; $75 just dinner
Hours: 5:30pm VIP hour; 6:30pm dinner only
Reserve a table at Oak + Rowan on Christmas Eve to enjoy chef Justin Shoults’s take on the classic Feast of the Seven Fishes. The five-course dinner (which wraps up with a fish-free dessert from pastry chef Brian Mercury) starts at 6:30pm unless you opt to include the VIP caviar hour beforehand, in which case you should plan on being in Fort Point by 5:30pm. Price: $65 per person; Wine Pairing additional $35 per person
