This election season, have your cake and eat it too, courtesy of The Fireplace. Chef Jim Solomon and team are heading to the culinary archives for Election Day desserts from Colonial New England. The classic English yeast cake has been baked to celebrate the right to vote as early as 1771. Over in Brookline, the kitchen gives the treat a maple-glaze, adding in cornmeal, brandied Cape Cod cranberries, hazelnuts and molasses. Cap off your meal with the classic election cake, available through Tuesday, November 15th. Reservations can be made by calling 617.975.1900.
