Ames Street’s New Cicerone

As if you needed another reason to make Ames Street Deli your local watering hole, the bar team has upped the ante on their beer expertise. Bartender Neil Quigley, who manages the beer program at both Ames Street and Study, has just been named a Certified Cicerone® after completing the second level of examination in the brew-focused program. The Cicerone certification sets an industry standard for beer service, covering areas of knowledge from pairing to history to storage (and more). Quigley, who’s four months shy of his 21st birthday, took advantage of his Canadian citizenship in order to take the exam before he reached the US drinking age, making him possibly the youngest Certified Cicerone® around. The title adds to an already sudsy career, including the role of head brewer of Farmer Willies alcoholic ginger beer. Swing by Ames Street to congratulate Quigley—with a glass of something brewed, of course.
