Here Comes the Bacon King

Food folk descended in droves on Kissimmee, FL this month for the World Food Championship, a competition that pits chef against chef against chef in a long list of culinary showdowns. Emerging victorious as World Bacon Champion was Mirbeau chef Stephen Coe, who prevailed over 22 others for the $15,000 prize. (Coe was also the second-highest scoring winner overall.) For a taste of what he can do with the cured meat (and more), head to Plymouth for dishes like the Mirbeau Burger with bacon jam or Henri-Marie’s bacon-wrapped rabbit loin, among other culinary treats.
