Laura Henry-Zoubir – Chopped Champion

Chef Laura Henry Zoubir, of Church, Regal Beagle and 14 Union fame, cooked her way to the top, claiming the title of Champion on the January 18th episode of Chopped. The Food Network show, hosted by Ted Allen, pits four up-and-coming chefs against one another in a surprise ingredient cook-off . Henry-Zoubir, who made it through the first two rounds with dishes like bone marrow brulee and Dungeness crab risotto, sealed the deal with a dessert of red curry infused pineapple clafoutis with vanilla bourbon sauce and pepita brittle. With the prize money (ten thousand dollars), Henry-Zoubir and her husband plan to take a trip to his native country, Morocco. Tune into the Food Network to catch her on Chopped or drop by any of the restaurants to see what she can do when she gets to pick the ingredients herself.
