Having declared February Super Hunger Month, the Greater Boston Food Bank unveils a number of ways to help fight hunger over the next few weeks, with Super Hunger Chef, Super Hunger Brunch and an online auction starting on February 15th.

The Super Hunger Chef event, scheduled for Thursday, February 15th pits two of Boston’s most celebrated chefs, Jamie Mammano of Mistral, Teatro, Sorellina, The Federalist and still-in-the-works L’Andana and Four Seasons Boston’s own executive chef Brooke Vosika, against one another. The two chefs, who are old friends, will be trying to out cook each other with food stocked by the Greater Boston Food Bank. Tickets for the event, which takes place from 6:00-9:00pm at Four Seasons Boston, cost $125 each and can be purchased by calling 617.427.5200.

Brunch, and the hunger-fighting efforts of the Greater Boston Food Bank, gets a boost from local chefs and restaurateurs for the 16th annual Super Hunger Brunch on Saturday, February 24th and Sunday, February 25th. On either day, restaurants will be donating the proceeds from specially designed prix fixe brunch menus (ranging in price from $35-50 per person). Make reservations at spots like 33 Restaurant & Lounge, blu, Chez Henri, Davio’s, EVOO, The Fireplace, Grill 23 & Bar, Icarus, Mare, Rialto, Sel de la Terre and Turner Fisheries to participate). Pledge your support for the Greater Boston Food Bank through their online auction from Thursday, February 15th through Sunday, February 25th. Bid on gastronomically-themed items like a Chef’s Whim Dinner for eight at Craigie Street Bistrot or a Chef’s Tasting Menu for two (complete with wine pairings) at Lumière.
