North v. South at Met Club’s Sunday Suppers

Chef Todd Winer pits north against south in the February batch of Sunday Suppers at The Metropolitan Club. Diners can choose traditional northern favorites like New England clam “chowda” or a boiled dinner of corned beef, potatoes, turnips and cabbage with horseradish and mustard or opt for southern specialties like white grits with tasso ham and flamed shrimp and chicken and gravy with braised greens, mashed potatoes and mini biscuits. North and South are united when it comes to dessert – classic brownie sundae with strawberry, chocolate and vanilla ice cream smothered in hot fudge and whipped cream. Sunday Suppers, which change on a monthly basis, cost $30 per adult and $20 for children and can be paired with select wines from their extensive list available for a just $5 per glass.
