Chestnut Hill’s ladies who lunch (and anyone else looking for the ideal midday dining destination) have hit the jackpot – The Metropolitan Club, right on Route 9, is now open for lunch. Recently-appointed chef Todd Winer rolled out the menu this week and there’s plenty to get excited about. Served from 11:30am until 2:00pm, it’s got a slew of sandwiches like the griddled BLT or the lobster club, and a new spin on salads that allows diners to start with a salad base – say Caesar or Greek – add a salad topper like tuna, shrimp, chicken or sirloin, and then toss on a little crunch with treats like candied pinenuts, crushed cornnuts or wasabi peas.
