After 16 years, Finely JP’s, one of Wellfleet’s favorite restaurants, gets a facelift. Over the winter chef-owner John Pontius razed the restaurant and has started from scratch. Still a work in progress, the redesigned restaurant will have a new lounge sporting a blue, fish-shaped concrete bar with plenty of seats, a split level dining room with a beach versus ocean feel and the piece de resistance – a roof deck. Of course, there’ll also be a larger kitchen so Pontius can feed all those hungry people in all those additional seats. The restaurant is scheduled to re-open in June and Finely JP’s aficionados can rest assured, Pontius will still be serving the same creative fare that you’ve come to love.
