Umbria Ristorante on the Horizon

Umbria comes to Boston in early October with the opening of restaurateur Frank de Pasquale’s newest venture, Umbria Ristorante at 295 Franklin Street. Executive Chef Marisa Iocco, of Bricco fame, will be overseeing Umbria’s menu of simple, rustic dishes made with regional specialties like chestnut honey, EVOO, farro, and, of course, truffles. On October 7th, Chef de Cuisine, Michael Scelfo, most recently of Dedo, rolls out a menu boasting dishes like homemade Umbrian fusilli with mushrooms, olives, truffle cream and grated pecorino cheese; and slow-braised Kobe pork ribs with sofrito, chickpeas and beans, in an intense peppery wine sauce. In addition to the ristorante, the five-story Umbria complex houses a mezzanine level for private functions, a third floor lounge and a state-of-the-art nightclub on the fourth and fifth floors.
