Urban Hearth – Junior Sous Chef

Urban Hearth, an intimate restaurant in North Cambridge with a focus on locally sourced, globally inspired cuisine is seeking a new junior sous chef for our dynamic small team. This role requires strong organizational skills, ability to lead, collaborate and create with others and produce consistently exceptional food at service each night. They are a small restaurant with a growing reputation and exceptional potential. The junior sous chef position is an exceptional opportunity for skilled line cooks ready to advance their careers. You will work in close collaboration with the executive chef and owner, Erin Miller to develop hyper-seasonal, hyper-local dishes for our a la carte and tasting menus. Candidates must have a passion for exploring and learning. They place great emphasis on diving deep into traditional and contemporary technique, and the intersections between food, history and culture.

An ideal candidate will possess:

  • 2-4 years line cook experience
  • Up to date ServSafe certification
  • Strong butchery, recipe development and line cook skills
  • Love of learning
  • Professional attitude
  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively with others
  • Dependable and responsible
  • Culinary degree preferred
