UpperWest – Chef/Sous Chef, Bartender, & Dishwasher

Seeking full-time Chef/Sous Chef, part-time Bartender and part-time Dishwasher.

UpperWest is a casual wine bar in North Cambridge catering to a great local neighborhood clientele.

Chef/Sous Chef position – this is a unique position to run a solo kitchen and introduce your own menu items, in collaboration with the head Chef. Menu is focused on cheese, charcuterie and hand made pasta, with a few other small plates. Must be able to handle high volume alone, have attention to detail, expedite and run/explain food to patrons. Ordering, P and L, and management of any future kitchen staff required. Passion, attention to detail more important than experience. Salary negotiable based on experience. Profit sharing possible for the right person. Hours are generally late afternoon to 11pm.

Bartender position – 2-3 shifts per week, including Sundays and Wednesdays (with a possibility of more shifts in the future). Outgoing personality, love of food and wine, and positive attitude more important than experience. They have a full bar with a focus on old world wines, some craft beers, and classic cocktails. This is a good position for someone highly motivated but with little bartending experience.

Dishwasher position – 3-5 days per week, hours typically 5:30-10:30pm with the potential for more hours. Hand washing in 3 bay sink. High attention to detail, able to follow directions precisely. Growth potential exists to other positions in the restaurant. No experience necessary.
