The Townshend – Sous Chef

The Townshend in Quincy is looking for a Sous Chef with a passion for food and hospitality to join our team and help expand our footprint as one of the top restaurants in the South Shore.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in preparation of menu ingredients in an efficient manner.
  • Preparing dishes as instructed by the Chef.
  • Supervising the work of team members (Line Cooks, Dish) to ensure productivity levels are met.
  • Ensuring all stations are adequately stocked for the shift.
  • Ensuring all stations, and cooking equipment are thoroughly cleaned before and after each shift.
  • Adhering to standard food rotation practices (FIFO) to reduce food waste and minimize risk of contamination.
  • Checking in quality of deliveries and ensuring the correct items are being received.


  • 1 years of related experience required
  • Medium-high volume experience required, fine dining experience a plus
  • Experience with menu development & implementation
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written forms
  • Ability to maintain quality of food while managing others
