We are seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Bartender to join our team at The Thirsty Scholar. The Lead Bartender will be responsible for managing the bar, creating and serving a variety of craft cocktails, beer, and wine, and ensuring that guests have a memorable experience. The ideal candidate will have previous bartending experience, excellent customer service skills, and a passion for creating unique drinks.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the bar area, including stocking supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Create and serve a variety of craft cocktails, beer, and wine.
- Provide exceptional customer service, engaging with guests, and making recommendations based on their preferences
- Train and mentor other bartenders and barbacks, ensuring that they adhere to company policies and procedures
- Manage cash and credit card transactions, including processing payments and making change, and closing out shifts
- Assist ordering manager to help maintain inventory levels and track usage to ensure that supplies are always readily available
- This position will allow you to be involved in the menu creation by collaborating with the kitchen and management staff to develop cocktail and food pairings that enhance the dining experience
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of bartending experience; experience in a leadership role preferred but not required, we will train the right, motivated candidates
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to engage with guests and make recommendations
- Extensive knowledge of craft cocktails, beer, and wine
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and mentor other bartenders and barbacks
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures and experience with POS systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
This position also offers the opportunity to get more invested in the restaurant and company by taking a lead role in event management. Additional commission incentives included.
