The State Room – Bartender and Server

POSITION TITLE: Bartender
DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Venue Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Maintain highest of uniform, service and grooming standards, positive attitude, professional demeanor at all times
• Must possess excellent beverage knowledge and be able to answer questions on the venue
• Upon arrival for shift, read BEO and speak with managers regarding any specialty items
• Have bar cleaned, well organized and stocked fully 30 minutes prior to event start time
• Mix drinks with approved pour counts using only speed pourers
• Never leave the bar unattended or let a guest pour their own drink
• Deliver beverage service with the highest regard for the guest and the venue
• Serve the guest beverages in a timely manner; following up on all special requests
• Uphold proper beverage service techniques and sanitary laws
• Complete setup and break down of all bars per Longwood standards
• Maintain proper levels of all supplies: beverage, ice, glassware, fruit etc.
• Complete accurate drink counts per Longwood standard
• Perform accurate cash handling procedures
• Ensure bar areas are maintained with exceptional cleanliness and inviting ambiance at all times
• Ensure all closing procedures are completed – All liquor, beer and wine are accounted for and placed away per Longwood standards; all bars and bar areas are deep cleaned and all supplies placed in the correct storage areas
• Follow all laws for serving alcoholic beverages. Maintain ability to control and or refuse service if needed.
• TIPS certified
• They are a service included venue. No tip jars; solicitation or accepting of tips is allowed
• Be friendly and outgoing as you are the employee having the most consistent contact with guests.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
At least 2 years of bartending experience

RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Uphold all Longwood and venue specific standards.
• Uphold proper service technique,
• Uphold proper sanitary laws
• Maintain highest of uniform, service and grooming standards, positive attitude, professional demeanor at all times
• Set tables properly and efficiently.
• Set coffee service properly and efficiently
• Set tableside wine service and keep track of nightly consumption
• Maintain proper clearing techniques including clearing from the right and serving from the left; always asking the guest if you may take their plate prior to clearing
• Responsible to check with floor plan to make sure specified tables have the correct amount of chairs and settings
• Serve functions efficiently always maintaining synchronized service.
• Maintain stations including cleanliness at all times.
• Ensure delivery of food and beverages is timely.
• Maintain proper alcohol safety laws, including confidence and ability to refuse alcohol service to a guest professionally when he or she is intoxicated.
• When food stations are needed, setting up all equipment and breaking it down properly.
• Responsible to know what food is being served at all times, including knowledge about allergies associated with a certain dish.
• Go above and beyond for any guest or client needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
1-2 years’ experience in hospitality industry

LONGWOOD REQUIREMENTS
• Proficient in Computer skills – Microsoft Office
• Require availability to work flexible hours and weekends
• Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking, written & verbal communication skills
• Collaborate with all departments and foster team environment
