Small restaurant located next to the beach on the picturesque island of Martha’s Vineyard seeks executive chef for the 2020 season (May-Oct). Well known to both locals and visitors for 14 years as a family-friendly spot for breakfast and lunch all summer long, they have in recent years incorporated a simple dinner menu that was long-anticipated and thoroughly embraced. They are looking for someone who can help to further develop their dinner menu using their creative ideas and techniques, as well as incorporating locally raised meats and produce from surrounding farms. They are also looking for someone to develop their newly established catering business in their new off site commissary kitchen. Other responsibilities will include hiring, training, and managing BOH staff; inventory and food-cost management; and maintaining kitchen equipment through proper operation, care, and maintenance. In addition to your passion for cooking and attention to detail, we’re looking for a reliable applicant who is a team player with a strong work ethic, has a positive professional attitude, strong leadership skills, and is self-motivated. They are a high volume, seasonal restaurant. All applicants must have a minimum of 5 years prior culinary experience as a chef de cuisine, executive chef, or sous-chef.
