Necessary abilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading by example, teaching & training of staff in proper procedure and execution
- Creating a winning team in your kitchen
- Earning the respect of the all-restaurant staff through mutual respect & exemplified work ethic
- Critical thinking, resourcefulness and the ability to solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
- Proper cost management in regard to food and labor
- Management of the line during busy shifts while ensuring that the kitchen operates in a timely manner that meets our quality standards + establish working schedule and assess staff’s performance
- Cooking on the line during busy shifts alongside chefs, sous chefs and the line cooks while following company standards and plating specifications
- Overseeing prep/production and ensuring proper set up for regular service, private parties & marketing events
- Set-up for brunch, lunch, dinner service and/or private parties and marketing events and successful execution of said events and service segments
- Maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of the line, all food prep and production areas and equipment while complying with and enforcing City of Boston & MA safety guidelines
- Closing of the line and kitchen, verifying work completed by the cooks and dishwashers
- Generating prep/production lists, placing orders and tracking inventory
- Maintaining a positive attitude in a high stress environment
- The ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with entire restaurant team from dishwashers to management, back and front of the house and comporting oneself in a professional manner while at work.
Skills Required

- Emotional Intelligence
- Proven experience as a Chef to lead a team to glory
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Excellent record of kitchen and staff management with references
- Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- Culinary degree a plus but not a requirement
