The Lexington & Cafe Beatrice – Kitchen Manager

The Lexington & Cafe Beatrice at Cambridge Crossing are looking for a daytime kitchen manager! The ideal candidate has a passion for quality product in a fun, fast-paced environment. The kitchen manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations of the cafe line, preparing and prepping the savory menu, they will continuously expand their knowledge of the savory menu and take best practices in preparing that menu as well as coaching their team to do the same.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain a clean and organized work station
  • Daily and weekly ordering
  • Coaching and training line cooks on best practices, standards, and preparation
  • Taking note of the needs of the kitchen in order to set themselves and their team up for success
  • Ability to assess food costs and labor costs, and adjust accordingly
  • Create a weekly schedule for their staff
  • Work with the chef to envision new menu ideas
  • Work with the cafe manager to ensure a cohesive and efficient environment between FOH and BOH

Job Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience managing a kitchen in a fast, casual restaurant
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to lift and/or move items up to 30 lbs without assistance
  • Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, weekend availability is required
  • Spanish speaking is preferred but not required
