The Opportunity
A Bartender is an integral part of The Lexington’s front of house team, a position that recognizes the most senior and experienced hospitality professionals in the organization. Bartenders at The Lexington function as part of a team of professionals in service to our guests, our bar, our neighborhood and our restaurant group. Bartenders at The Lexington are leaders on the service team, a key point of contact, or “face”, for guests enjoying the bar regularly, as well as providing mentorship and education to Apprentice Bartenders, Servers, Barbacks, and Hosts. Bartenders at The Lexington will collaborate with other Bartenders, the Head Bartender, Bar Manager and/or Senior Leadership as an extension of their vision of bar culture and its translation to day-to-day operations at The Lexington.
This position offers opportunity for deep mentorship. In this role, a Bartender will build upon bar and service experience to lead a team devoted to product education and drink construction. This position does have the potential to extend from The Lexington as an ambassador for beverage and service culture across the company. In practical terms this position serves as a platform to learn and grow as a beverage professional.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Establish a great rapport with all bar guests, connecting to both old and new regulars and establishing yourself as a point of contact.
- Deliver an unparalleled drinking experience to all guests of the bar, going above and beyond at all opportunities.
- Intimate knowledge of all food and beverage on offer at the restaurant.
- Devoted to learning, both in general product education as well as drink construction.
- Contribute to a great restaurant collective by attending meetings, absorbing materials and sharing news and strategy.
- Collaborate on drink design and implementation with the Head Bartender or Bar Manager.
- Support other aspects of the restaurant operation during service where necessary or dictated – setting, clearing, organizing, and cleaning.
- With guidance and mentorship, develop persona and reputation as a destination beverage personality.
