The Harvard General Store, a family-run bistro in Harvard, MA, serves locally-inspired breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner on their spacious outdoor patio. They are looking for a courteous, friendly and COVID-conscious customer service professional to work front-of-house at their grill. The front-of-house staff serve both as cashiers and bartenders (18+, please), while instructing customers of the CDC-recommended COVID protocols. Alongside customer service priorities, front-of-house staff are also required to maintain patio cleanliness by routinely disinfecting tables, electronic devices and themselves. Familiarity with Square POS is a plus, as is confidence.
As FOH, you are the face of the Harvard General Store, interacting with each customer and ensuring that their needs have been satisfied. They’re looking for team players who are ready and willing to communicate, both with co-workers and customers. These are fast-paced services, and they need people who are quick on their feet.
They try to be flexible in scheduling, but they’ll also ask you to be flexible; applicants must be able to work breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts, Wednesday through Sunday. From Wednesday to Saturday, they’re open for Breakfast (8am – 10:30pm) and Lunch (11:30am – 2pm). On Sundays, they serve Brunch from 10am to 1pm. Dinner services run on Fridays and Saturdays, from 6pm to 9pm. Shifts are cushioned by an hour for setup and breakdown on either side of service.
