The Butcher Shop, Barbara Lynch’s neighborhood wine bar, is seeking a Service Manager to join the team.
A tribute to the old world European boucheries, The Butcher Shop is a neighborhood wine bar and full-service restaurant offering a highly-seasonal menu for dinner daily and weekend brunch as well as regionally-inspired snacks during weekday aperitivo hour. Inspired by Chef Barbara Lynch’s travels throughout France and Italy, The Butcher Shop is the perfect place for a glass of wine and a small bite or to linger over a meal. The menu highlights meat and produce from local farms and vendors with whom Chef Barbara has built decades-long relationships.
The role of Service Manager is a dynamic position that encompasses all aspects of the day-to-day operation and execution of the restaurant. The Service Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will have the primary focus of supervising nightly service.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: guest relations, assisting in managing the floor on a daily/nightly basis, leading a team of seasoned service staff, helping to manage and maintain inventories.
Ideal candidates will have an innate sense of hospitality, empathy and humility coupled with an exceeding strong work ethic and desire to lead. Applicants should embrace a food & wine culture rooted in integrity, creativity, and discipline while recognizing a need for educational programs to achieve this culture. They will be passionate about all aspects of hospitality and restaurant culture and possess great organizational and prioritization skills. One to two years of prior restaurant experience is highly preferred.
