Sumiao Hunan Kitchen – Bartender & Bar Manager

Sumiao Hunan Kitchen is hiring bar managers and bartenders to join their team.

Bar manager responsibilities include guest relations, supervision of all staff, staffing levels, food & beverage quality, safety and financial goals. Applicants must have the ability to control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions and inventory control. Plan, organize, control and direct the work of employees while ensuring superior quality and consistency in preparation of all food items and guest relations

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead pre-shift meeting with all staff on a daily basis
  • Responsible for their employees’ knowledge and understanding of the food and beverage menu
  • Reports any issues that arise among employees or guests. Oversees and assists in our guests’ satisfaction
  • Monitor and control alcohol consumption from our guests to ensure guest safety
  • Create and maintain Signature Drink Menu
  • Directs hiring, assignment, training, motivation, evaluation and termination of personnel
  • Is responsible for the correct documentation and adhering to company policies regarding disciplinary action

Requirements

  • Must have at least two (2) or more years management experience in the Food & Beverage industry, with previous management experience in a Full-Service Restaurant preferred, or other related/equivalent field may be considered
  • Preferably TIPS and ServSafe Certification
  • High volume experience
  • Open availability required (including weekends and holidays)
  • Have solid experience with and knowledge of cocktails, liquors, beers & wine
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced environment
  • Basic computer skills, POS handling
  • Strong communication skills

Bartenders must be friendly and outgoing, and possess good communication skills. Their individual personality should shine through in order to thrill our guests.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the setup, maintenance and operation of the bar
  • Communicate and attend to our guests in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of the menu, for food and beverage and the preparation and ingredients of all items
  • Taking food and drink orders from patrons or wait staff, preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes, serving wines and bottled or draught beer
  • Monitor and control alcohol consumption from our guests to ensure guest safety
  • Communicate and attend to our guests in a timely manner
  • Work with others in order to keep all areas cleaned and stocked to company standards at all times

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ year’s bartender experience
  • ServSafe/TIPS Certification required
  • Create and maintain Signature Drink Menu
  • High volume experience
  • Open availability required (including weekends and holidays)
  • Have solid experience with and knowledge of cocktails, liquors, beers & wine
