Sportello is seeking a part-time Host to join the front of house team.
Sportello‘s Italian spirit is reflected in the seasonal dishes created each day – fresh, handmade pastas, beautifully composed salads, and inventive, balanced entrees – and in the supremely approachable, artisanal wine list created by Executive Wine Director Cat Silirie. From Chef Barbara’s signature tagliatelle bolognese, to strozzapreti with braised rabbit, and Rohan duck with farro and roasted carrots, Sportello features comforting, trattoria-inspired dishes made with fresh ingredients.
The host conducts the mood and pace of the restaurant and is expected to strike a balance between maximizing guest accommodations and maintaining the quality and standard of Sportello’s guest experience. Prior to service, he or she will confirm reservations, plan the seating chart, and coordinate any special guest arrangements requested/needed for service. The ideal candidate will enjoy meeting new guests and nurturing existing relationships. Furthermore, he or she must recognize the importance of maintaining a positive, healthy, and communicative relationship with both management and the service staff. Prior host experience is preferred, but not required; they require flexibility with scheduling and weekend availability.
