Puritan & Co. – General Manager

Puritan and Company is seeking candidates for General Manager. The General Manager leads the Front of House team and partners with the Executive Chef on the overall management of the restaurant. They are seeking candidates who are as passionate about food & beverage as they are creating and curating positive culture for their team and guests.

They have an upbeat, fun approach to fine service and a great work environment. This is a food and hospitality driven restaurant requiring the desire to learn about and share your enthusiasm for the food and beverages they serve.

Candidates should be highly self-motivated professionals with a strong sense of teamwork and willingness to go the extra mile for both guests and their co-workers. Applicant should have a committed work ethic, willingness to contribute on a daily basis, and ability to multi-task and perform under pressure. Ideal candidates should embrace a food & beverage culture rooted in integrity, creativity, and discipline while recognizing a need for educational programs to achieve this culture. The ideal candidate is a hardworking, empathetic leader with restaurant business acumen. A minimum of 3 years of management experience is required. A minimum of 1 year of General Management experience is required.

Existing experience should include payroll, maintaining financial goals, managing a large and varied staff, training and educational development and a decent understanding of all office related programs or the willingness to quickly learn any that you are unfamiliar with. The most important aspect of the job will be floor management of a bustling restaurant which requires a keen attention to detail and dining room flow. An ideal candidate lives for the rush of smoothly maintaining a busy and energetic dining room while making guests as happy as possible and going the extra mile. Their team is hardworking, mature and dedicated.

This is a full-time, salaried position, expected to work 5 days per week. They do not serve food or drinks late, allowing for very reasonable exit times and quality of life outside the restaurant.

Responsibilities include:

  • daily opening/closing
  • hourly labor management and schedule maintenance
  • training and developing programs for team education
  • managing the floor during service
  • daily supervision of product quality
  • expediting
  • cost and waste controls, maintenance of labor, sales and cost goals
  • payroll
  • guest relations
  • community relations (events and outreach included)
  • assist in private dining operations

Proficient in:

  • Microsoft Excel, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Cal, OpenTable, Toast, Quick Books
