Pennypacker’s restaurant, food truck and catering business is seeking a full time sous chef/kitchen manager. This position will be in charge of all operations at the Boston location in the High Street Place Food Hall.
This employee will be working hand in hand with the owner, to eventually take over management of this location, The person for this role must be able to run the kitchen on their own within a few months. This is a full time, salaried position.
Candidates should have an understanding of costing, inventory, ordering, menu organization, staff management, and a few years of relevant experience. This position is very hands on, you will be cooking, working and cleaning along side the staff every day.
This job will require some flexibility. The food hall is open from 11am-8pm Monday through Wednesday, and 11am-10pm Thursday through Saturday. Some early mornings may be required. A wide knowledge of food is needed, and this position will have input and involvement on menu creation in an entirely scratch kitchen. There is also a need for good customer service and the ability to handle front of the house aspects, as all employees cover every job, including engaging with customers, cashiering when needed, cleaning and dishes. Knowledge of Toast POS is very helpful.
The position requires an ability to lift at least 50lbs and a ServSafe and allergy certificate are preferred, but can always be obtained later.
