Assistant Deli Manager Job Description

  • Managing daily activities by delegating tasks and stations to staff members and supervising duties including serving, packaging, operating machinery and counters
  • Overseeing and helping maintain consistent food preparation and cooking, proper storage and labeling/dating, and accurate rotations for quality and freshness
  • Providing consistent direction and thorough communication with staff members as kitchen, deli and catering must operate as a team
  • Operating equipment and machinery, working deli stations as needed
  • Ensuring cleaning and organizing including floors, preparation surfaces, tools, and utensils to ensure workspaces are properly sanitized
  • Ensuring food safety with in-depth knowledge of allergens and dietary restrictions and proper certifications
  • Maintaining a visually pleasing deli and grab-n-go case
  • Controlling and recording food waste
  • Support the training of new staff members
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Responding to customer and employee requests, questions, complaints
  • Monitoring the quality of guest satisfaction and interacting with customers to enhance guest experience
