Pammy’s, an award-winning New American Trattoria in Cambridge, is looking for a special person to take the reins of their Wine Program.
The wine list at Pammy’s features growers and makers who embody the restaurant’s ideals of care and compassion without sacrificing excellence. As the kitchen pulls from Italian culture and American innovation, the wine program juxtaposes New and Old World wines from small producers in both countries. The Wine Director must be excited to curate a Natural Wine list that pairs to Chef Chris Willis’ meticulously balanced culinary approach that does not negate quality for ethos. Sommelier certification is not required but deep love, knowledge, and experience with both wine sales and fine dining are.
This is a salaried Service Management position. Along with wine curation and staff education, the Wine Director will be actively engaged in service as both the Sommelier and a Floor Manager. The right candidate for this position, first and foremost, is enormously passionate about wine and is excited to share that love with their staff and guests. Of equal significance is the ability to be a team leader. Leading at Pammy’s is knowing how to balance opposing forces within others and oneself. Inclusive yet discerning. Warm and strong. Intelligent but approachable. Ambitious yet patient. Pammy’s manages their staff from a place of warmth and firmly believe that great hospitality starts with how they care for each other. The management team exemplifies that ideology without negating polished service, exceptional product knowledge, or efficient operations. The Wine Director will challenge their peers to expand their wine and hospitality knowledge while keeping the larger picture of joy and growth in mind.
Pammy’s offers health insurance, dental and vision insurance, paid time-off, parking, educational incentives, and competitive pay. They are an inclusive employer and do not discriminate against age, gender, nationality, race, sex, class, or orientation.
