Alpine Restaurant Group based in Somerville, MA (Painted Burro, Rosebud American Kitchen & Bar, Posto, Osteria Posto in Waltham, and Burro Bar in Brookline) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Sous Chef.
A definitive neighborhood joint in one of Davis Square’s most iconic settings, The Painted Burro offers a laid-back yet sophisticated setting with creative food that reflects Chef Joe Cassinelli’s extensive background in different types of cuisines. With over 90 seats in the main dining room, a 18 seat bar and lounge, the restaurant offers a variety of dining options.
The Painted Burro Sous Chef
This individual will join a professional team committed to excellence and consistency within a high volume atmosphere. The Sous Chef will work in conjunction with the chefs and management team with a variety of responsibilities ranging from employee development to product ordering, seasonal menu item testing, hands on involvement with the day-to- day operation of the restaurant etc.
The Sous Chef will influence:
- meat and fish preparation
- classic sauces & stocks
- daily development and execution of food specials
The ideal candidate should possess a strong culinary background and organizational skills as well as a passion for leading a team. Knowledge of sanitation procedures and food cost controls are a must. A minimum of 2 years previous experience as kitchen management in a high volume, full service establishment is required. This position is full time and includes a competitive salary and benefits package.
