MEM Tea Imports – Office Manager

MEM Tea is a whole leaf tea company that specializes in importing, blending and servicing the hospitality industry in Boston, New England, and beyond. Founded in 1999, MEM Tea has been at the forefront of the growing specialty tea market focusing on high quality teas and herbs sourced from origin. They are seeking a seasoned hospitality veteran who loves and understands the restaurant industry, but would also crave a more traditional 9 to 5, Monday through Friday work schedule to join their Team.

Office Manager – Full Time:

The Office Manager is the primary contact for external sales, and an integral liaison with members of other departments throughout the company, some of whom are located remotely.The Office Manager is responsible for answering the main phone line and email in order to process a high volume of wholesale orders in an accurate and timely manner. The Office Manager may also assist the Sales Team in setting up new accounts, acting as a point person between sales and warehouse production to communicate crucial information about inventory, pricing, and general troubleshooting. The Office Manager is expected to maintain a strong working knowledge of all the teas and teaware, as well as maintain an awareness of current events relating to the industry and the local food and beverage scene. The Office Manager also assists with accounting tasks such as processing payments, preparing deposits, monitoring accounts receivable, and entering and maintaining current billing information for wholesale accounts.

Qualifications, Skills and Traits:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines while handling and prioritizing simultaneous requests
  • Self-directed, self-reliant and highly motivated, flexible in an evolving start-up environment
  • Team player who works well with others
  • Positive attitude and sense of humor
  • Knowledge of G-Suite, Excel and Word; experience with Quickbooks Enterprise a plus
  • Personal interest in tea is beneficial, but not necessary
  • Food service/hospitality industry experience helpful
