Max Ultimate Food Catering – Executive Chef

MAX Ultimate Food is a full-service high-end catering company with a VIP client base throughout Boston and the Greater New England area. They offer innovative new foods and some old classics with a modern and fresh approach. Their goal is to create a style that matches each client’s vision and expectation of their event. Their events range from intimate dinners of eight to elaborate events for thousands of guests. In addition, MAX has exclusive catering contracts with the Museum of Science and the Boston Children’s Museum.

POSITION: MAX Ultimate Food is looking for a creative Executive Chef to head up their full-service catering division. This position will report to the Culinary Director. The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all culinary functions for a high-volume catering company, including menu creation, while ensuring financial and operational success of the full-service catering division.

  • Reports directly to the Culinary Director
  • Oversees the Executive Sous Chef and MOS Banquet Chef, ensuring all procedures are being followed
  • Develops daily prep list and assignments for MAX Ultimate full-service catering production
  • Creates new and innovative menus seasonally (four times per year)
  • Completes themed menu requests from sales team as needed
  • Attends weekly team meeting to review upcoming events
  • Oversees tastings for all full-service catering events
  • Ensures food safety and sanitation procedures are being followed appropriately
  • Coordinates trainings with prep team as needed


  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume environment
  • Certificate or degree in culinary arts preferred
  • Strong financial and computer skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
  • Proven ability to direct staff clearly and concisely while positively influencing employee behavior and performance
  • References will be checked
