Mamaleh’s Boynton Yards – Satellite Supervisor

Mamaleh’s Boynton Yards is looking for an energetic supervisor of its new offshoot where each day will hold something a little different.

This managerial position is a combination of FOH and BOH responsibilities. It encompasses ordering, scheduling and oversight of operations of the restaurant, including service, administrative responsibilities and clear communication with Mamaleh’s locations and ownership.

Mamaleh’s supervisors and managers are integral and active members of service and are expected to be hands-on from the beginning to end of the service period – with the guests, the service team, and other management.

The supervisor will be integral to the smooth operation of this wide range of activities, keeping in close contact with the production kitchen, the assistant general managers and the Director of Operations for support.

General Management Responsibilities :

  • Order and maintain restaurant supplies
  • Attend weekly manager meetings (if there is limited daily interaction with co-managers)
  • Clear and continuous communication with kitchen and all FOH staff to ensure proper flow of service and guest satisfaction, including directing staff and enforcing service standards, product quality and cleanliness
  • Maintain a healthy work environment amongst staff – coordinate with GM and HR if any issues arise
  • Coordinate monthly inventories -FOH and BOH

Front of House Management:

Opening, service hours and closing managerial responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Financial/cash handling
  • Oversee daily orders and provide support at the front counter throughout the shift
  • Oversee cleanliness and organization of the dining room, including bathrooms and work areas
  • Oversee cleanliness and organization of market area including all merchandise
  • Bank deposits and making change
  • Guest interaction
  • Ensure service and food quality
  • Check that all printed and digital menu platforms are up to date and accurate
  • Work with AGM on training new employees
  • Implement (or uphold) company-wide employee training program (PrepShift)
  • Continual development of FOH employees by upholding performance expectations, providing ongoing feedback, and conducting regular performance reviews
  • Ensuring FOH staff has appropriate food, beverage, and service knowledge

Back of House Management:

  • Oversee all ordering from our Vendors including Mamaleh’s Production Kitchen
  • Help oversee the line and ensure the flow of service is efficient and smooth
  • `Maintain and ensure proper plate presentation and cleanliness before orders leave the kitchen
  • Assist in monitoring the receiving of all product to ensure it meets restaurant standards
  • Oversee cleanliness of any BOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas
  • Oversee and delegate deep cleaning of BOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas
  • Troubleshoot general daily issues with orders, equipment, and staffing
  • Competency at working all stations and set a standard for how the line cooks work each station, demonstrating standards for quality and efficiency
  • Food safety and sanitation knowledge-
  • Sense of urgency and comfort in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently, both as part of the team and also autonomously

  • Strong systems management and computer literacy skills- including but not limited to:

  • Vendor Ordering Platforms (Baldor, Chef’s Warehouse, etc.)
  • Online Ordering Platforms: Doordash, Ubereats
  • Certifications
  • CPR
  • ChokeSaver
  • Servsafe
  • Strongly Preferred
  • Knowledge and love of Jewish Deli culture
  • 1+ years of restaurant and culinary management experience
  • High volume, fast-paced restaurant experience
  • Comprehensive food and beverage knowledge
  • A moderate amount of Spanish speaking
  • Flexibility in scheduling
  • Current driver’s license
  • Certifications
  • College or related trade degree

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a device, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in a restaurant environment with a moderate noise level. The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for 5 to 10 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.

Schedule Expectations:

  • Managers are regularly scheduled for a 5-day
  • They will occasionally be asked to work additional days to cover staffing shortages or during especially busy times – these extra work days are compensated with additional vacation days
