Lookout Hard Cider/The Greenhouse & The Lookout – Manager

What we are looking for
A positive, flexible, lead by example dining professional that wants to build and maintain a collaborative team culture for a unique set of dining operations – The Lookout and The Greenhouse at Lookout Farm. In this year round, full time, role you will manage, improve and help grow high volume business to increase service levels and sales while working to minimize food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs.

Who you are
You are a customer service oriented, data driven, people person. You care about your staff, being fair, serving customers well and managing a profitable business. You can build systems to help organize an operation (scheduling, etc.), works well with others(i.e., Executive Chef and Events Manager), and have a drive to grow and improve the business.

In this role, you will have many roles, primarily the following:

  • Planning Support:
    o Partner w/executive chef and Cider GM on procurement, inventory, food planning to include estimation of food and beverage needs, place orders with distributors, and schedule the delivery of fresh food and supplies
    o Partner w/events to manage usage of shared spaces and staffing, optimize customer experience, and maximize sales.
    o Partner w/marketing to plan and ensure execution of entertainment, special events, branding, etc. to increase customer turnout
  • Operations Leadership
    o Manage scheduling, planning for volume changes both intraday and seasonally
    o Build standard operating procedures and ensure teams are executing service delivery in a consistent, safe, compliant and healthy manner
    o Partner with Human Resources to ensure we are recruiting and retaining a pool of servers, bartenders, hosts to meet our high volume
    o Be a positive and thoughtful presence, solving operational issues during shifts
    o Refine and enforce policies and procedures
  • Customer Service Leadership
    o Be the face of the dining operation to our customers, along with our Customer Service Leads
    o Train, inspire and grow our server and host customer service capabilities through on the spot coaching and off shift training / support
  • Administrative
    o Track usage of food and beverage sales
    o Track food and food packaging inventory and manage inventory to ensure proper accurate and timely ordering, receiving, rotation and waste disposal
    o Track and report labor hours and compensation related metrics
    o Keep management log of key team actions/issues (call outs, injuries, etc.) and other key data (e.g., weather, etc.),
    o Maintain Dining calendar


  • You also must have 3-5 years of experience as a Front of House Manager / Assistant Manager in a fast paced environment
  • Serve Safe Food Handler’s Permit and TIPS certified (TIPS certified instructor is a plus)
Employment Type(s): Full Time
Base Pay: $70000-$90000/year
