Lone Star Taco Bar – Assistant General Manager, Allston

Lone Star Taco Bar is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team at Lone Star Taco Bar, Allston. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership role within an established business. The opportunity to grow beyond an AGM position is attainable for highly motivated individuals. 

About Lone Star Taco Bar:

With locations in both Allston and Cambridge, Lone Star Taco Bar serves Mexican street food with an agave focused cocktail program. We pride ourselves on our neighborhood feel, friendly and knowledgeable staff and casual familial hospitality. 

About the Assistant General Manager role:

The AGM will co-lead all aspects of restaurant operations for our Allston location seamlessly alongside the General Manager and Bar Manger. The AGM reports to the General Manager, Director of Operations, and the Human Resource manager. The AGM will also have the full support of and access to the ownership team. The Allston AGM is responsible for: 

  • Managing overall restaurant operations with a keen focus on execution of company service & hospitality standards during peak service
  • Demonstrating exceptional leadership skills 
  • Nurturing and coaching staff members as they progress in skill and position
  • Writing employee schedules
  • Monitoring and understanding inventory alongside GM and Bar Manager, bi-weekly
  • Facilitating repairs and maintenance of company equipment and property as needed
  • Assisting in Human Resource conversations and employee reviews in a professional manner
  • Ability to stand, walk, and use stairs for extended periods of time
  • Ability to move, lift, push, pull and carry objects weighing 25-50 lbs. with or without assistance

Required Experience and Qualities:

    • 1 – 3 years in a prior restaurant management role strongly preferred 
    • Prior extensive experience in FOH service roles required 
    • Experience with operating restaurant systems and software:
      • POS (Toast preferred)
      • Accounting & Payroll
      • Scheduling 
      • Inventory management
    • Demonstrated organizational skills, and a focus on results
    • Skilled at maintaining effective communication with staff, peers and upper management
    • Demonstrates a strong ability to motivate FOH employees in a professional manner that inspires growth and education
    • Ability to maintain composure during stressful situations with guests and employees alike
    • Applies creative solutions to unique problems and situations
    • Spanish language skills are a bonus!
Employment Type(s): Full Time
Base Pay: $55,000-$70,000/week
