Little Dipper, an American restaurant in Jamaica Plain is seeking a Lead Line Cook, and an Executive Sous Chef to join their team. This is be a busy, all-day restaurant with a dynamic menu which draws inspiration from all over the country.
Executive Sous Chef: The ideal candidate will possess the ability to positively lead their team and oversee their training and culinary development. They will ensure the proper execution of the menu up to their standard in the absence of the head chef. The ideal candidate should find joy and inspiration in designing and executing anything from their dynamic, regionally inspired menu whether preparing traditional Americana menu staples or dishes inspired by immigrant cuisine. This candidate will work with their existing team to maintain a healthy cost ratio of food & labor. Experience with classic culinary technique and fine dining is a plus. Ideal candidates will have at least one year of Sous Chef experience. Compensation & bonus structure is commensurate with experience level.
Lead Line Cook should have at least 3 years of line cook experience and be looking to move into kitchen management. This is a salaried position that requires a motivated person with high quality standards. This person will lead the line in the absence of the chef, prepare and plate all food to the high standards of their kitchen, oversee other cooks,
Little Dipper sends 3.75% of their sales directly to the people who prepare food at the restaurant (dishwashers, cooks, sous chefs, prep cooks) to help bridge the gap between FOH and BOH pay rates.
