Ledger restaurant in historic Salem, MA is a progressive New England concept with a focus on wood fire cooking led by James Beard Nominated for “Best Chef Northeast,” Chef Daniel Gursha. We are hiring a Sous Chef to work in our state of the art open kitchen to grow and motivate their team for success. This position is geared for someone who is looking to take the next step in their culinary career and learn management skills with our culinary team.
Ledger hires candidates based on attitude as well as a desire to gain experience to take the next step in their careers. They are a hands-on scratch kitchen and are looking for passionate individuals that want to grow and advance within their growing company. You will have access to butchery, charcuterie, wood fire cooking, local produce, pasta making, and above all, a place to hone your skills.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in line cooking, maintaining cleanliness and organization, problem solving skills and self motivation. In addition to staff management and daily operations, this candidate will be required to assist in administrative duties such as scheduling and product orders. This position would work closely with Chef Gursha to maintain Ledger’s level of execution and consistency, whether it is for their dining room or their private dining room.
Ledger Restaurant is currently open for dinner 5 days a week, brunch on the weekends, and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. They offer competitive salary based on experience in the $50-60k range, with an additional 3% living wage surcharge added directly to team BOH paychecks, and a structured environment that promotes a quality work life balance.
Sign on Bonus of $500 after 60 days for full time employees.
