Ledger – Pastry Chef

Ledger in historic Salem, MA is a progressive New England concept with a focus on wood-fire cooking led by Chef Daniel Gursha. They are hiring a Pastry Chef to work in their state-of-the-art open kitchen to grow as well as lead their pastry team.

Ledger hires candidates based on attitude as well as a desire to gain experience to take the next step in their careers. They are a hands-on scratch kitchen and are looking for passionate individuals that want to grow creatively and advance within their growing company. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in baking and pastry, maintaining cleanliness and organization, problem solving skills and self motivation.

Prior management and private dining experience is preferred to oversee their staff and production for the busy dining room as well as their private events space. In addition to staff management and daily operations, this candidate will be required to assist in administrative duties such as scheduling and product orders. This position would work alongside with Chef Gursha to maintain Ledger’s level of execution and consistency.

Ledger Restaurant is open for dinner 6 days a week, brunch on the weekends, and closed on Mondays. They offer competitive salary, a 3% living wage surcharge, and a structured environment that promotes a quality work life balance. Ledger is also accommodating with time off requests as well as paid time off.
