Jm Curley/Bogies Place is in search of a kickass executive chef to join their family. Jm Curley is a fun barroom/restaurant serving fun American style food (with a twist), while Bogies Place is a small hidden speakeasy steakhouse that serves some of the best steaks in the city. This is a fun and unique place to dine, drink, and work. As an executive chef, your responsibilities include opening and closing the kitchen, scheduling the kitchen staff accordingly, help plan and execute special menus for private events, hiring new staff, placing orders, handling invoices and order forms, managing inventory, creating fun and different menu items and specials, managing costs and labor, overseeing the kitchen staff, attending manager meetings, and ensuring smooth kitchen service night in and night out.
The ideal candidate must have kitchen management experience as either an executive chef or a sous chef, and is well versed in the daily operations of a fast-paced kitchen and has an ability to understand the bigger picture while also focusing on the minutiae. You should be self-motivated, able to manage a team of 10-15 people, creative, and dedicated to your craft. You should also be able to multitask comfortably and maintain grace under pressure. It never hurts to be funny or a little weird either…they sure are.
