Fox & the Knife/Bar Volpe – Pastry Chef

Are you an experienced Pastry Chef looking take the next step in your career?

James Beard award winner Karen Akunowicz’s Fox & the Knife and Bar Volpe are searching for a Pastry Chef to join their team.

Candidates should have at least 3-4 years of professional baking experience, preferably in pastry in either a restaurant or bakery setting. Applicants should be able to take direction and work independently. Candidates will be able to develop new projects, and create successful pastry and baking programs, change the menu seasonally and work with Chef Karen on fully developing the baking and pastry programs.

Opportunities to take on more responsibilities, including the supervision of a small pastry team, will be available for the right candidate.

This is a full-time, salaried position offers two weeks of paid vacation, $1000 signing bonus at six months of employment, health and dental insurance, two days off in a row, yearly educational stipend, monthly wellness credit and a chance to learn and grow with their dedicated team.

Chef Akunowicz’s vibrant Enoteca was named Best New Restaurant in America by Food + Wine Magazine, and was a James Beard Finalist for Best New restaurant in America. Fox & the Knife and Bar Volpe offer traditional Italian cuisine with a modern sensibility, focusing on their handmade pastas, bright antipasti and their Aperitivi and Amaro programs.
