Eventide Fenway – FOH Team Member

Eventide Fenway is looking for an FOH Team Member to join their staff. The FOH role is responsible for being able to work multiple positions in the FOH. From pouring beer to bussing tables to taking orders, the FOH role will be skilled in all areas of FOH service.

Responsibilities:

  •  Study and train on new food or beverage items
  • Maintain poise under pressure
  • Learn and retain new information quickly
  • Make knowledgeable recommendations
  • Efficient use of knowledge of common food allergies
  • Communicate any issues to kitchen, coworkers and management within a timely manner
  • Check guest’s identification to ensure legal drinking age
  • Know the ingredients and techniques of dishes
  • Move quickly and efficiently; move with a sense of urgency
  • Complete sidework of opening and closing duties and cleaning lists
  • Maintain general restaurant cleanliness
  • Be in accordance with, understand, and assist in instituting all Big Tree Hospitality policies and procedures

Bar:

  • Serve beer, wine and all other beverages
  • Prepare soft serve service for guests
  • Manage the cleanliness and efficiency of the bar area during service

Cashier:

  • Work with the POS system to take orders efficiently
  • Understand the menu, ordering system, and flow of service
  • Communicate to guests in a knowledgeable and hospitable manner

Floor:

  • Fulfill reorders and check-ins and clear dishes and tables with attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Consistent bathroom checks and maintenance
  • Stocking of any FOH supplies and alert management of low stocks
  • Observe guests to see and perceive their needs and respond accordingly without direction

Expo:

  • Communicate effectively between the FOH and BOH
  • Check dishes for temperature, presentation, consistency and accuracy pursuant to BOH and code standards
  • Organize food tickets efficiently

Qualifications

  • POS experience preferred
  • Knowledge of common food allergies
  • Experience in a high volume, fast paced restaurant
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a hospitable and professional manner
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Qualified to serve alcohol
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Some food and beverage knowledge
  • Fluent in English language (writing, reading and speaking)
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive, upbeat, can-do attitude
  • Basic understanding of health and safety codes
  • eTips certification, preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, work and move around the floor for extended periods of time
  • Ability to move/lift/push/pull/put over head at least 30 pounds multiple times per day
  • Ability to bend, reach, extend
