Eataly – Bakery Assistant Manager

Eataly is looking for a Bakery Assistant Manager. The Bakery Assistant Manager helps with the production of bread and its products in Eataly’s 24-hour baking facility. The Assistant Manager bakes breads in accordance with Eataly’s standard, unique recipes. Reports to the Bakery Manager.

  • Prepares all items to be sold in the bakery, marketplace and to be served in all restaurants
  • Maintains and nurtures natural yeast and naturally leavened products
  • Orders ingredients and supplies for the bakery and its related areas
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary food production area
  • Performs cashier duties including processing returns, voids and exchanges when necessary
  • Supervises and directs the bakery production staff
  • Assists the Bakery Manager with leading, training and developing bakery team members
  • Completes administrative duties such as scheduling when required
  • Documents, investigates, elevates and resolves all employee and guest incidents
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned


  • 2+ years of experience in baking production
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience operating a wood burning oven
  • Previous managerial experience highly preferred
  • Degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training program highly preferred


  • Availability to oversee a 24-hour-operating bakery, including working weekends, nights and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
  • Ability to work with a wood burning oven, electric pizza convection oven and commercial spiral mixer
