Eastern Standard Kitchen and Drinks has just returned to the Boston restaurant scene and we’re looking for talented, driven individuals to join the bar team. That’s right! Garrett Harker, best known for Eastern Standard, Island Creek Oyster Bar and The Hawthorne, is once again bringing enlightened hospitality and high energy operations to the Fenway neighborhood. Garrett is joined by Beverage Director Jackson Cannon and Culinary Director Nemo Bolin in the operation of ES and two other concepts.
About The Position:
Eastern Standard is seeking hard working, motivated barbacks for both LUNCH and DINNER shifts who are eager to learn and thrive in a dynamic restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality, remain constantly curious about all things food & beverage and work well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As a barback you’ll be on the front line representing the Eastern Standard and the ES Hospitality brand. You’ll be responsible for backing up the bartenders in all aspects of the shift from set-up, prep, service and breakdown, ensuring that the bar provides a memorable dining experience through stylish execution of cocktail, wine, beer and food service. We are proud of the level of hospitality and culture of education we’ve always been known for. As a barback at ES you will have the opportunity to continue to learn and grow professionally alongside colleagues that take pride in what they do.
Responsibilities Include:
- Pre-shift bar organization and set-up
- Prep work including juicing, stocking, batching and garnish preparation
- Restocking and general bar maintenance throughout service
- Assisting with table maintenance and guest requests throughout the shift
- Assisting in bar breakdown and clean up
