Chubbs Taco & Tequila Bar – FOH Positions

Maverick Hospitality, the Group behind Lucy’s American Tavern, Bowery Bar, Sam Walker’s American Tavern, Cityside Tavern, Layla’s American Tavern, is growing this Spring with the addition of our new Mexican concept, Chubbs Taco & Tequila Bar. Chubbs will exude a vibrant and energetic neighborhood taqueria. We are excited to be opening in Adams Village in Dorchester in the Spring of 2024.

The menu at Chubbs will showcase of a wide variety of Mexican dishes and some traditional cooking techniques with the major highlight being our taco section made with fresh house made tortillas with locally sourced masa. Chubbs will offer a variety of tequilas, mezcals, and Mexican cervezas. There will be a curated section of house cocktails like Margaritas, Palomas, and Micheladas all crafted to complement the flavors of our food menus.

As with all our Maverick Hospitality restaurants, Chubbs Taco & Tequila Bar will actively engage with our local community by offering a Cocktail for a Cause. This initiative will partner with local charities and give back $2 from every cocktail sold to our partner.

We are looking for FOH Team Members to be a part of our exciting new opening this Spring. You will deliver a high-quality menu and collaborate with our management team in a Guest First Approach. Most importantly you will be an integral part of our amazing team who have dedicated themselves to a positive work culture and to exceeding our guests’ expectations on every visit.

OPEN POSITIONS – FULL AND PART TIME | WEEKEND AVAILABILITY IS A MUST

Bartenders: At least 2 years in a similar high volume full-service restaurant. Previous experience with jigger pouring is preferred. You must be able to accurately free pour as well. Our bar teams must be passionate about hospitality and our guests’ experience along with working in a fun and upbeat environment.  $30-50+/hr (base pay plus tips – standard at all other restaurants in our group)     

Servers: At least 1 years experience in a similar high volume full-service restaurant. Understanding of delivering Steps of Service to our guests to deliver the best dining experience is key. A passion to work collaboratively in a team environment is a must.  $20-40+/hr (base pay plus tips – standard at all other restaurants in our group)                                                 

Hosts: Experience is preferred but not required. Our host team will be the first and last person our guests encounter. Warm, friendly, and engaging are a must. Experience with OpenTable will help increase your hourly wage. Starting at $17/hr – host experience will be offered higher rates      

Support Staff: Experience is preferred but not required. We are hiring food runners, bar backs and bussers. All positions are crucial support levels to the operations of the restaurant. Great starting position for someone who wants to break into the restaurant industry. $16-25/hr (base pay plus tips – standard at all other restaurants in our group)           

Door Staff: Experience is preferred. Weekend positions available to check ID’s, keep capacity counts as needed and most importantly greeting guests as they arrive at Chubbs. Must pass a background CORI check. Starting at $23/hr          

Line Cooks: At least 1 year in a similar high volume full-service restaurant. Previous experience in Mexican cuisine preferred but will train the right candidate. ($19- $24/ hr)

Prep & Dishwashers: At least 1 years experience in a similar high volume full-service restaurant. Previous experience with tortilla making highly preferred. ($16-$20 /hr )                                                                                                                                           

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A passion for the restaurant industry and dedication to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Familiarity with restaurant software and point-of-sale systems such as OpenTable and Toast
  • Ability to work in a high volume and fast paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends.
