One of Kendall Square’s premier restaurants, Café ArtScience, is seeking a Jr. Sous Chef to lead a dynamic kitchen team with opportunities for growth and development. This French influenced concept is in the heart of one of the world’s most innovative areas and the menu should be a reflection of that environment.
Proper candidates will possess the ability to lead others in their culinary development while fostering a clean, responsible and professional environment. The ideal candidate finds as much joy in building a tasting menu as they do in a great hot dog and is comfortable cooking anything in between. Additionally, they will work with their Chef de Cuisine to maintain healthy cost management of both food and labor.
- Daily menu design for lunch, dinner, private parties and special events
- Oversee daily kitchen schedule
- Daily ordering and monthly inventory
- FOH and BOH staff development
- Proper costing of dishes
Compensation is $50,000/yr, commensurate with experience level. Ideal candidates will have at least one year of Jr. Sous Chef experience. Additional needs include proficiency with Excel, Word and proficiency in Spanish a plus.
